STAR
Tokyo Station is the gateway to Japan.
Tokujin Yoshioka's new public art piece "STAR" is installed and exhibited at TOKYO MIDTOWN YAESU, which is planned to open across Tokyo Station.
The gigantic 10-meter sculpture is made of stainless steel mirrored rods that converge, as if crystallizing, to create a luminous "sculpture of light".
The more than 2,000 octagonal rods of mirrored stainless steel randomly reflect the sunlight and become one with the surrounding environment, reflecting sunlight during the day, turning a beautiful amber color at sunset, and even reflecting the light of the night sky, creating a sculpture whose radiance changes in many ways.
This shining star represents a wish for peace, that the world may be united as one.
