Second Nature

21_21 DESIGN SIGHT

For the "Second Nature" directed by Tokujin Yoshioka, he exhibited his own works and presented his "CLOUDS - Installation" by a number of fibers enveloped the entire space like clouds. He tried to express "second nature" as a sense of expressing a symbol of nature that we seek in the future design, and a nature that exists deep in each one's memory.

Tokujin exhibited a natural crystal chair "VENUS," which took shape by making the tiny crystals grow in an aquarium, and makes its appearance over time as if the goddess herself gradually emerges from water. Also there were two-dimensional pieces in crystals incorporated a method of changing the shapes of crystals by playing music during the crystallization process which were responding to the sound in the aquarium.
