TOKUJIN YOSHIOKA Glass Project

21_21 DESIGN SIGHT

With his poetic, experimental and nature-inspired works, Tokujin Yoshioka is a designer renowned in the international design, architecture, and contemporary art scenes.

His work continues to impact his viewers' senses through his use of intangible materials such as light, sound, and scent; and has achieved unique expressions beyond the common notion of form.

The work on exhibit reflected Japan's unique concept of nature held within people's minds and memories. And by doing so the exhibition brought the essence of creativity derived from light and glass closer to viewers.

The selection of works ranged from the well recognized “Water Block”, the footage of architecture project “Glass Tea House - KOU-AN” and “Rainbow Church” to his latest work “Glass Watch”, “Prism” (Dom Pérignon Art Project), and “Rainbow Architecture”.
