AIRism 3D MASK

UNIQLO

“AIRism 3D MASK” is a mask that harmonizes function with design. Employing a triple-layer structure which a high-performance filter sits between the outer AIRism fabric, the mask is designed in three-dimensional form that allows easier breathing. The mask is jointed completely stitchless to have softer touch on the skin. A beautiful curve of the mask, achieved from countless and careful prototyping, gives itself a sleek silhouette when worn.

< Creative Process >
Like other works of Tokujin Yoshioka, his creative process of “AIRism 3D MASK” began from designing its production. Inspired by the production technique of underwear, the mask is formed together by welding the fabric to make it completely stitchless to pursue softer touch on the skin. This functional, simple, and beautiful design of the mask was achieved from more than 100 prototyping and testings that went on for over a year.
