Tokyo Station is the gateway to Japan.

The gigantic 10-meter sculpture is made of stainless steel mirrored rods that converge, as if crystallizing, to create a luminous "sculpture of light".
The more than 2,000 octagonal rods of mirrored stainless steel randomly reflect the sunlight and become one with the surrounding environment, reflecting sunlight during the day, turning a beautiful amber color at sunset, and even reflecting the light of the night sky, creating a sculpture whose radiance changes in many ways.
This shining star represents a wish for peace, that the world may be united as one.

  • RIP ISSEY MIYAKE

    10 August 2022

I first met Issey-san when I was 20 years old and was introduced to him by Shiro Kuramata.
For the 35 years since then, Issey-san has been a mentor and a father figure to me.
I learned from Issey-san the beauty of making that is created from challenges.
I can only express my gratitude for the many moving moments he shared with me.
I sincerely pray for his soul rest in peace.
